About

This site provides information for new and continuing students on placement in English, quantitative reasoning (Q) courses, and Mathematics courses.

The university placement tests are important tools that help determine student readiness for appropriate placement in certain courses such as Mathematics, English and Chemistry.

Students cannot earn credits toward graduation for taking these tests but the scores may serve as pre-requisites for registration in some of these major and general education courses.

During the orientation session and throughout the academic year, advisors will use the placement scores to determine appropriate course sequencing for students during their undergraduate careers at UConn.
